Workshop Schedule

Thursday, February 27, 2020

  • 6-8 pm Talk and Book Signing: One Simple Thing
Location: Casa De Luz, Synergy Room
In this two hour lecture, Eddie will discuss some of the underlying mechanisms of yoga that make it an effective practice for self-regulation, emotional regulation, and spiritual experience. Drawing from his book, One Simple Thing, he will discuss a variety of scientific findings and yogic explanations that complement both an Eastern and Western approach to spiritual practice. Even after thousands of years, yoga continues to be an infinitely interesting and exciting practice and philosophy, never growing old, and always staying new. In this lecture, we will look at some of the reasons why this is so. Please bring a copy of your book for signing.

Sunday, March 1, 2020

  • 8-10 am Mysore Practice
Location: Casa De Luz, Synergy Room
(Plant-based organic gluten-free breakfast is available for purchase after practice in the Casa De Luz kitchen)
  • 10:30-12 pm Yoga Philosophy Talk: Stillness, Feeling, Acting and Thinking: The Four Modes of Yoga
Location: Casa De Luz, Tranquility Room
In this lecture, we will discuss the four paths of yoga that represent the basic ways that we interact with the world. Yoga is the practice of knowing who we are on a deep level. The access we have to that inner knowledge gets cloudy because our minds are filled with thoughts, desires, confusion, conflict, and regrets. Yoga provides remedies for all of these mental difficulties, which are reflected through the four paths, or modes, of yoga. In this class, you will learn what the four paths are, how they apply to you, and what states of mind the four paths can help to soothe, so that you can use them to help strengthen your positive mental traits, and gradually diminish negative mental states.
(Plant-based organic gluten-free lunch is available for purchase after lecture in the Casa De Luz kitchen)
